The 2009 annual report put together by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) reveals that Germany has made a major breakthrough on the world market of conventional weapons [see downloadable document below].
German arms exports more than doubled during the last five years, climbing into third place on the list of the world%u2019s largest weaponry exporters, ahead of France and the United Kingdom.
MP Claudia Roth, Co-Chair of the German Green Party, is demanding greater parliamentary oversight for arms exports.
